A free online web-browser game developed by Kabam Games! Choose from three races, build your armies, and conquer Middle-earth! Take control of Heroes including Gandalf, Thorin, and Legolas during battle against online opponents!
After a few posts on the academic/philosophic side of Tolkien, I thought I would add a little something that is easier to understand. The Hobbit: Armies of the Third age is a free web-browser-based game developed by Kabam Games. While I have never actually played (and therefore am unable to recommend it to you), I will simply tell you what it is about. You start out by choosing a race to control: elves, dwarves, or orcs. Next, you build strongholds, train armies, and attack! It is online, so you can play with thousands of other players, making alliances, invading, and, perhaps most important of all, defending.
It is a time of great turmoil in Middle-earth. Elves and Dwarves, long at odds over ancient slights, are now on the brink of war. Meanwhile, vicious Orcs and Goblins plot to overthrow the other races and burn their kingdoms to the ground. Take up arms alongside the greatest heroes of the Third Age to create your own kingdom within Middle-earth. Build an empire of Elves, Dwarves or Orcs and partner with thousands of players online to crush your enemies and defend your realm. The fate of Middle-earth is in your hands!
