According to the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is easily dominating Les Miserables and Zero Dark Thirty in both DVD and Blu-ray sales.
This week, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has easily taken both top spots on the DVD and Blu-ray sales charts. According to the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart, which tracks the overall disc sales, the next two contenders are far behind. Les Miserables, which holds second place, has only sold 33.8% as many units as The Hobbit, and Zero Dark Thirty, holder of third place, has only sold 21.4%. Another interesting note is that Blu-ray sales make up 56% of total unit sales. Whatever the critics say or have said, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is a very popular movie.
