The Hobbit on Blu-ray and DVD

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has finally become available for pre-order on DVD and Blu-ray. There will be three and five disc combos for Blu-ray and a two-disc Special Edition on DVD. They are a little pricey, but worth every penny. The only down is that all they will have is the theatrical version. The extended version will not be available until later this year. These will all arrive on March 19, 2013 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. However, on March 12, 2013, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will become available for download.
To add to all this, if you buy Blu-ray combo, or the DVD Special Edition, you will receive a free code that will gain you access to live preview of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, hosted by Peter Jackson, on March 24, 2013 at 3:00PM Eastern/Noon Pacific. Later, an edited version of the first look will appear on the Official Hobbit Trilogy website, at www.thehobbit.com/sneak.
