Five Characters who should have returned to The Hobbit

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

According to Yahoo! writer Daniel Wood,

There are five characters from The Lord of the Rings who should have reprised their roles in The Hobbit:  Aragorn, Gimli, Denethor, Arwen, and Merry, Pippin, and Sam, who for some reason all count as one. (I know they're only halflings, but wouldn't that still make it one and a half?) Anyway, he gives some pretty interesting reasons.

Viggo Mortensen will not reprise his role

Thursday, May 30, 2013

We finally have our answer to the question whether Aragorn would appear in The Hobbit movies - No!

Viggo Mortensen recently told The Guardian that he turned down an offer to reprise his role in The Hobbit movies. Instead, he is looking into possible directing, moving on, as he is 54 years old. It would have been awesome if he returned to Middle-earth, but, oh well, he did not.

Correction: Viggo Mortensen was never asked specifically to reprise the role of Aragorn. Instead, he was asked if he was interested, to which he answered no. It is a small distinction, but I will admit it is an important one. I apologize for posting inaccurate information.

There and Back Again, Viggo Mortensen?

Will Aragorn return to play a part in The Hobbit: There and Back Again?

Are the rumors true? Will Viggo Mortensen indeed return to reprise his role of Aragorn in The Hobbit trilogy? Although he does not appear in the book The Hobbit, the screenwriters could find a way to include him in the script. Will this be the case, or is it all a groundless rumor created by hopeful but misled fans?

Jerry Vanderstelt's Strider

Jerry Vanderstelt's weekly Facebook highlight!
Strider, better known as Aragorn, son of Arathorn, as he watched the hobbits from the dark corner of The Inn of the Prancing Pony. "A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."   -The Lord of the Rings
