The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has received yet even more nominations! The Motion Picture Sound Editors Guild announced that The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has been nominated for Best Sound Editing: Sound Effects and Foley in a Feature Film; Best Sound Editing: Dialogue and ADR in a Feature Film; and Best Sound Editing: Music in a Feature Film. Ann Maskrey, Richard Taylor, and Bob Buck have also been nominated for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in the excellence in fantasy film category by the Costume Designers Guild. That brings the total to 19 different nominations for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey!

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Facebook page just recently announced The Treasures of Middle-earth Design Contest. This contest is only open to citizens of the U.S. or Canada, and is for art or design based upon The Hobbit, either the book or the films. The entries will be judged by John Howe, Alan Lee, and Richard Taylor. Entries will be categorized into Characters, Creatures, Weapons, and Locations.
