The latest Lego Hobbit set unveiled at Comic Con!
With the San Diego Comic Con 2013 coming to a close, Lego unveiled one last set: Lake Town Chase. It is unknown who is chasing who, though we do know that the set has 334 pieces and includes five minifigures, which are, as far as I can tell (their identities have not been officially revealed), Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield, Bard the Bowman, Master of Laketown, and a Laketown Guard.

Hobbit paraphernalia everywhere at the San Diego Comic Con 2013!
Although Peter Jackson was not able to spare himself or any of the actors from the hard work of finishing up the movies, many others have rushed in to fill the Hobbit gap! The Weta Workshop, Bridge Direct, Slideshow Collectibles, TheOneRing.net, and many others have booths displaying merchandise, statues, props, and other fantastic Hobbit items. I have selected a few images to show to you, which you will find beyond the break.

The latest news concerning the Weta Workshop booth at Comic Con 2013
I am sure all you who are going to the San Diego Comic Con 2013 were disappointed that Peter Jackson will not be able to attend this year, but there will be plenty to make up for it! The Weta Workshop booth will be offering more Hobbit items than you can imagine, plus autographs from quite a few artists!

The Desolation of Smaug Production Video #1
Although this video did bring the sad news that there will not be a special sneak-peek at this year's Comic Con and no actors will be there to answer questions, we still get ten whole minutes of great behind-the-scenes footage!

This figure is 7" tall, and comes with many switch-out parts to re-create multiple scenes from the movie. The one shown on the left is Azog from the Battle of Azanulbizar, holding the head of Thror and possessing all his limbs. Only 2,600 pieces will be made worldwide, so be sure to stop by the Bridge Direct booth as soon as you can at Comic-Con 2013!

Here is yet another interview from comic con. (I hope you are not bored of them!) Richard Armitage (Thorin Oakenshield) talks about being a dwarf, particularly a drunk dwarf. Not surprisingly, the interview takes a turn to the question of splitting the second movie into two. However, Richard Armitage appears to be completely ignorant of any such notion.

The other day, I was looking up hobbit videos when I came across this one, which I thought was the most interesting and exciting. It is a second official trailer, which has the same footage as the first, except that the dwarves' song is replaced with completely new lyrics. They talk about the movie itself, and mention its directors, Guillermo del Toro* and Peter Jackson. The only different footage in the video is a clip from a movie directed by Guillermo del Toro, I'm not sure which, and King Kong which was directed by Peter Jackson. You can watch the video below, or go the Videos page.
* Guillermo del Toro was originally hired to direct this film, but left because of certain delays, so Peter Jackson, who directed The Lord of the Rings films, was hired instead.
