The Dwarves, the White Council, Wizards, Trolls, and more!

The other day I came across a slough of new videos on a Japanese website. They are the most interesting videos I have seen since the last official trailer, so be sure to watch at least a few of them. These videos contain exclusive behind-the-scenes info and interviews, so they are well worth the watch, even though they do have Japanese subtitles.

Saruman, Gandalf, Eagles, Ents, and more!

Lego has recently unveiled their newest The Lord of the Rings set, The Tower of Orthanc. It is accurate down to the minutest detail, featuring Saruman's Throne Room, a glowing Palantir, and even a model of an ent. Any of this line of models is must have, but it is impossible to live without this!

Even though this has very little to do with hobbits in general, I will devote this post this this awesome Lego creation. In fact, I remember that Merry and Pippin participated in this battle so I am okay after all. It is called 'Last March of the Ents,' and was created by OneLug. It is over 7 feet high and its base, which contains 25 ents and 100 orcs, has a diameter of 8 feet. It was revealed in November, 2011 at the BrickCon in Seattle. It will only be on display at one other place: TheOneRing.net's 'An Unexpected Art show.'
If you click on the picture you can see a much larger version, and it is amazing. It is astoundingly accurate to the scene in The Two Towers, featuring Treebeard, an ent on fire, and water flooding Isengard. You can even see Saruman watching from his balcony. The tower was directly inspired by artwork by Alan Lee, and seems to follow it to a brick. Great job, OneLug!

Here is another SPOILER filled video, a scene straight from the movie. As the title of the post indicates, it is about the White Council, consisting of Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Cate Blanchett as Galadriel, Hugo Weaving as Elrond and Christopher Lee as Saruman. They are discussing the dragon Smaug in Rivendell. You can watch it by clicking on this link.
